KASE - Introduction

In 2022, Laurie the founder of KASE, also a wife and mom to the Esak family, (KASE spelled backwards) started making leather patch hats for friends and family as a hobby. This quickly grew into a hat business that was not expected. 

I have over 30 years of marketing and advertising experience, with working for the largest healthcare system in Canada leading the branding & marketing department for 16 years, prior was a Director of Advertising for one of the largest advertising agencies in North America for 15+ years.  With 2 very active kids and wanting to be home more for my family the hobby turned into a full time business. 

We are a family owned business in Spruce Grove, Alberta that specialize in making custom leather patch hats, and we are extremely proud to have shown our children that hard work pays off. In business or in sports or future endeavors.  Picture above is what we are typically doing if we are not working in the shop.  Both of our children are starting their 5th season of BMX with travelling throughout Canada. 

I did not realize how many different styles of hats there were out there. Learning from what a 5 panel hat, 6 panel hat, 7 panel hat, to a curved bill to a flat bill hat, snapback style hat or fitted style hat. The material for each hat. Low profile hats to high profile hats. I thought no worries I got this, every day I would research different hat styles and brands. No biggie when you are just ordering 5-10 hats a week, this was back in November of 2022.  Now we are ordering 500-1000 hats per week from suppliers across Canada and the United States. As of 2025 we made over 200,000 custom patch hats, beanies, toques, and caps for clients across Canada.
